A quiet book is a portable collection of activities pre-school children enjoy. It is designed to provide silent entertainment for small children when they must sit quietly by their parents in adult situations.
Quiet books are sewing projects which provide hours of fun for craft enthusiasts of all ages. The end result is a cloth book filled with simple tasks used to entertain young children and to strengthen their small-muscle motor skills. Pre-schoolers love the end result!
In the cloth book made from the patterns this book provides, each month is depicted with a scene and a poetic sentence or phrase, with fun activities included on each page. For instance, the message for May reads: May's warm rains / and sunny days / Make flowers grow / in bright bouquets.
The activities are real child-pleasers.
January has a snowman to attach with velcro strips. February is an openable Valentine's letter-pocket. March focuses on kites, while April allows the children to attach clouds and trees to a rainbow scene. May
has flowers with buttons, June has a cute butterfly, and July has picnic implements belted into a pocket. August features the sun's rays as yarn to braid, while
September's theme is autumn leaves. For October the children build a jack-o-lantern; November's turkey has tail feathers that snap on. December has five Christmas finger puppets to play with.
The book is designed to have the center pages removed so the patterns can be held up to the window and traced. The instructions for each month remain in place in the book. A list of required materials plus detailed instructions that give helpful hints for finishing each month's activity make the book "user friendly." This Months of the Year Quiet Book
will bring hours of fun and pleasure to many!
Kids will love the activities, and so will their moms and grandmothers.
