Scripture Stories for Tiny Tots--Read-Aloud
Stories from the Bible for Children 1 to 6

Louise A. Randall

Review

This valuable children's book is unique in that it is written to read like a story being told to a child. It involves the child in listening, learning new words, and answering questions.

Illustrations are left blank to be colored by the child. Included are stories about Moses, Isaac, Jesus, The Prodigal Son, pre-mortal life, the flood, Elijah, Elisha, and the Good Samaritan. It's an ideal "read-to" book which can be enjoyed by pre-kindergarten children.

The First Rainbow
Have you seen a rainbow high in the sky after the rain? A rainbow is beautiful, isn't it? Let me tell you about the very first rainbow.
Many years ago there lived a man named Noah. He was a good man, and he loved our Father in Heaven. He tried to do all the things our Father in Heaven wanted him to do. We also try hard to do the things our mommy and daddy want us to do, don't we? Our Father in Heaven is happy when we do what our mommy and daddy tell us to do, and He is happy when we do what He wants us to do, too.
Noah was happy because he did the things our Father in Heaven told him. One day our Father in Heaven told Noah something that made Noah sad. What do you think it could have been? I will tell you. Our Father in Heaven told Noah the people didn't love Him any more and they wouldn't do the things He wanted them to do. That was sad, wasn't it? I hope we never forget to do what our Father in Heaven wants us to do, don't you?
Our Father in Heaven told Noah to talk to the people and tell them that they were not doing the right things, and if they didn't do the right things, they would be punished. Do you know what punished means? You know that whenwe do something our mommy or daddy tells us not to do, we are being naughty, aren't we? Sometimes we must sit on a chair or maybe stay in the house or in our room, or sometimes we might even be spanked, isn't that right? This is called being punished. This helps us to remember to do what our mommy or daddy tell us to do, doesn’t it?
