Prophetic Statements on Food Storage
for Latter-day Saints

Neil H. Leash

Review

This very timely book draws together the messages LDS General Authorities have given to the Saints concerning the essential need for food storage in preparation for coming tribulations.

It begins by focusing on "crystallizing moments"--sudden events during the past century which radically altered mankind's actions and directions, and shows that similar events can be expected in the future. It teaches us that "the degree of our preparation will equal the extent of our obedience, which will determine the measure of our peace of mind."

This book deals with prophetic warnings and promises from previous times as well as those for our own day, and clearly shows that many of the Saints are not prepared for future food- storage-related emergencies. Some chapters report counsel which has been given to the Church concerning questions such as "Where should Latter-day Saints live during times of tribulation?" "Should we share our food storage with others?" and "Words of warning to those who 'almost' believe." The final chapters present general-interest topics such as a brief review of monetary history, comments on the human factors in economics, and basic food-storage quantities.

This book does an excellent job of drawing together and summarizing the broad spectrum of prophetic guidance on food storage which has been given to the Saints from the earliest days of the Church to the present.
