The
author, a former Mission President, has collected materials
from a wide variety of sources to present unshakable evidences
of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints.
The evidences he presents begin with an insightful
explanation of the role and mission of Jesus Christ, covering
not only the nature of God but a meaningful explanation of
the fall of Adam, the atonement performed by Jesus, his crucifixion,
and the essential ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
His second area of evidences center in the Bible, and he focuses
on numerous biblical scriptures that support LDS doctrine
and temple work, and ends by identifying 17 characteristics
which identify the true church of Jesus Christ.
Then he moves
beyond typical missionary sources, pointing out 26 areas where
the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Codices have unique
correlations with Latter-day Saint scriptures and teachings.
He explains the great apostasy, and points out six significant
events through which God prepared the way for the restoration
of His Church in these latter days.
He focuses on Joseph Smith
and the many roles he played, and shows many correlations
of history and archaeology which confirm the validity of the
Book of Mormon.
He speaks of LDS Temples, of latter-day miracles,
and the rich blessings which the Saints are promised when
they accept and live the Gospel.
He shows the proofs found
in the correct application of logic, then ends by instructing
how the Holy Ghost provides the ultimate witness of the truthfulness
of the Church.
One of the most significant values of this
thought-provoking book is the extensive documentation the
author provides, giving detailed sources on many hard-to-locate
events in early Church history and in numerous non-LDS sources. |
