     Sprouting isn't mysterious, difficult, or expensive! This is a book that handles the subject completely and with the skill of competent authorship. It explains the sprouting process in a readable, step-by-step manner, from buying the seeds to using the sprouts in a wide variety of delicious recipes. 

The author shows the advantages of sprouting, and tells how to buy and store seeds. A chapter is devoted to basic rules for sprouting, another to the techniques for harvesting and storing the sprouts. Still another discusses the use of dehydrated foods and sprouts together in home storage programs. 

Six different sprouting methods are described in detail: the glass jar method, the wood and plastic screen tray method, the flower pot method, the crock method, the plastic tub method, and the sprinkle method. Specific individual instructions for sprouting a wide variety of seeds is given. 

Two hundred twenty delicious recipes are included in the second section of the book, appropriately divided under 12 broad headings. These recipes show how to use sprouts in new and exciting ways. Many of them were created by the author herself: Bertha B. Larimore, winner of numerous local and state cooking contests in both Utah and California. She has been a state finalist in the Pillsbury Bakeoff and was a winner in the Western Family Recipe Contest.
