     This unique compilation presents concise statements by all fifteen Presidents of the Church, from the present back to Joseph Smith, Jr., on each of 97 essential themes. Quotations for each topic are arranged in chronological order, from present to past, so intriguing historical pattern become immediately visible.

Quotability is the key characteristic of this collection. The average length of the included statements is 55 words. The shortest is 5 words; the longest is 232 words. The book is very balanced with respect to the number of statements allocated to each Prophet. The short statements are ideal for talks and sermons. The compilers' objective was to select relatively short quotes that would provide inspiration and direction, teach sound doctrine, and be short enough for effective use in gospel sermons and newsletters. They also are extremely useful listings which provide clues for more in-depth searches in computer databases and library browsing.
