Who Was the Pharoah of the Exodus?

by Jeff J. Williams

Review

Scholars often acknowledge that the long-accepted chronology of ancient Egypt has shaky foundations and involves considerable guesswork. That chronology holds that Merneptah was the Egyptian who opposed Moses as he led the Israelites out of bondage. That chronology has Merneptah ruling from 1224 to 1214 B.C. Modern archaeological discoveries do not support the Merneptah-Moses connection, and agnostic Bible scholars say this discepancy is evidence that the Bible is myth rather than history. The problem is that researchers have looked for the Pharoah of the Exodus in the wrong historical period. Recent findings indicate that ancient Egypt's chronology, as translated from a history written by a fourth century B.C. Egyptian priest, is off by up to seven centuries in some places.

The author of this book reconciles the ancient chronology with modern archaeology and the Old Testament accounts. He offers convincing evidence that aligns specific Pharaohs of the old king list with historically-proven events and a rational new time-line for both Bible and Egyptian history. This book provides powerful proof that the Old Testament remains, after more than 20 centuries and numerous translations, a remarkably accurate chronicle of ancient Israel, God's early prophets and the true origins of modern civilization.
